Dear Parents,
There are students at DuPont Middle School who have severe allergy to nuts, peanuts, peanut butter, and peanut products. The allergic reaction may occur, not only by eating nuts, peanuts, and peanut butter, but if a student touches these foods, or someone who ate them touches him. These students may be in the same class as your child or may come into contact with your child during the day. The cafeteria will not be serving these foods. Please do not send anything to school with nuts, peanuts, or peanut butter. Please discuss with your child the importance of not bringing these foods into the building. Please ask your child to notify the staff if they accidentally bring these foods to school. This is a life-threatening situation and your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
